So I'll post something. Even if it isn't comics.
For those of you that don't know, I recently quit my job and started doing freelance video editing, and it is amazing LET ME TELL YOU! But okay, so, last August, I joined a team in San Jose for the 48 Hour Film Competition as an editor, where you have to make an entire short movie from start to finish in under 48 hours. This includes writing, shooting, editing, and anything else you need to get done. To ensure that everyone's movie was really going to get filmed in 48 hours, at the very start of the competition, everyone has to draw their genre out of a hat, and each team (for this one) had to include in their movie: Peanut Butter, the line, "I feel a little embarassed," and the character Don(or Dawn) August, PR Specialist. We picked Horror out of the hat, and we made an AMAZING(ly cheesy) zombie movie! You should all watch it, it's rad. I literally stayed up for... let's see, I woke up at 6am Saturday morning (I wasn't part of the writing process, so a lot of us showed up the next day), and didn't get to sleep until probably 11pm Sunday night. It was crazy. Hope you like it!

Horray for passive_mission and flamingwingnut for red comics day! They are redder than red! REDTASTIC! :D
So I quit my office job to start doing freelance video editing! I'm trying to get my name out there, which is why I entered the 48 hour film competition (I literally stayed up from 6am saturday morning to maybe 10pm the next night, and I edited for around 18 hours straight!! Holy canolli! lol, it was a BLAST though! The screening of the movie (it was a zombie movie, HEHE!) is tonight! I'll hafta go all the way to San Jose with my hurt mouth to watch it, but it'll be WORTH IT!! :D

So, about a week ago, I got a letter in the mail. The address was in my own handwriting, and I was a bit confused. I opened it up and realized that it was an assignment my Speech professor had given us all at the end of the semester a whole year ago. He told us to fill out this paper thing he gave us, and seal it in an envelope with our addresses on it, and that he'd mail it out in a year's time, so we could see how we've changed and all that. We were supposed to fill out a bunch of questions, but I decided they were kind of lame, and since I knew he wouldn't be reading it, since it's in a sealed envelope, I just wrote this on the paper:
(My handwriting is shitty, so if anyone can't read it, it says, "I just started Squiggly Comics! I wonder if I'll still be doing it in a year? We'll see!)
And there's a little horrible doodle of someone with lots of chins on there or something.
So, the point is, I *haven't* been doing any comics. Not because I don't want to or anything, but I think I've done like 2 all year, and it's what, May? Maybe I've been busy with school, or maybe I'm just horribly unmotivated. I'm not really sure.
This letter thing also got me thinking about what has happened since a year ago? Is my life all that different really? Let me recap from summer '06 to now:
- I tried to move out of my grandparent's house a few times, but it wasn't ever going to work out because I don't make enough money.
- I bought a video camera with GRAND intentions of making funny videos with it, but have yet to do anything really constructive with the damn thing.
- I went through, like, 4 phones and now I have a Mint Chocolate (yay!).
- I figured out Bittorrent (yay again!).
- I took a whole bunch of video media classes (what I'm completely passionate about), and in two semester's time, made a short movie that I wrote, directed and edited, made a short documentary about a street faire in San Francisco, edited a whole bunch of stuff in my advanced editing class, and am currently in the process of burning my DVD demo reel (it looks awesome!).
- I'm also starting to get people to pay me to do video things, which is REALLY awesome, cuz that's what I'd like to be doing ultimately.
- I somehow managed to find the absolute girl of my DREAMS, but just recently managed to lose her somehow (pictured below).
And uh... I can't really think of anything else. Basically a lot happened this year, but right now I'm pretty much at the same point I was a year ago... which isn't really... good...
But... I'll try to make more comics. I just have finals next week and then summer vacation will be upon me, so I'll have more time to do comic-y things. Thanks for reading my long ranty thing. |

Wow, an update! And it's not even with my own work! AWESOME!
Anywho, medox did a little sketchy for me, and because I am a total nerd, I asked for something nerdy! It's me and Sora preparing to fight some badguys! :D
It's neato!
In other news, I have produced NO comics at all and it's lame and poop. The end.
I'll work on this. I'll *TRY* to work on this.

Yeah, so, I've been spending a lot of time at Hollie's house playing Zelda on the Wii. Haha, it's so fun, Hollie and I get so overly excited about EVERYTHING that happens. Everytime I find a poe, I'm like, "HOLLIE! HOLLIE! A POE!!! RAWR I GOTCHOO!" And this goes doubly for all the completely awesome and innovative items that Twilight Princess has to offer. So yeah, we're constantly Oooing and Ahhing at the game. Like, nonstop. Seriously. :D |

Yes, today I went back to school. It gave me a headache, as it usually does. Overall, though, it wasn't too bad.
I haven't been updating. I was telling Rachel that I only ever seem to draw when I'm in class, hahaha. So I guess you should all expect some more comics? Hopefully?
Oh, well that's not entirely true, I drew most of this other comic while waiting in line for a Wii!

I seriously doubt that this will catch on MAINLY because I have little intarweb influence AND ALSO that no one knows who Rachel is, but THIRDLY it's christmas and most everyone should be busy! Terena had to go back to Phoenix yesterday, and she will be missed. She was fun! :D
In other news, I have a feeling this is going to be the best December ever. I'm turning 21, and even though I don't drink, this feels like a milestone. Plus Katie is visiting me. PLUS I'm going to Morro Bay again. PLUS RACHEL might visit me which would be amazing!
Plus... I'm starving... but I'm eating, but I'm still starving. FIGURE THAT OUT!

Yay, I'm kind of constantly updating again! Let's see how long I can keep it up.
I kind of spent most of my weekend with Hollie. We were gonna make sock puppets and make sock puppet videos, and then we almost went to wait in line for a Nintendo Wii, but decided we didn't need one urgently enough to want to wait outside of a store all night to get one. Then! Hollie took a shower. Then this happened. The end!
